My passion to pursue Sports Massage as my career began once I started focusing on my own personal health, fitness and well-being. Researching movement patterns, muscle activation and nutrition in order to help me achieve my goals led me to realise how the human body is fascinating and that remaining healthy is a combination of many different factors. I experienced the positive effects of receiving Sports Massage, finding that recovery from exercise, rehabilitation from injury and my posture were improved and that levels of pain and discomfort were reduced. I wanted to be able to help others improve their well-being and decided that becoming a Sports Massage Therapist was how I could help to achieve this.
I qualified with a BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Advanced Sports and Remedial Massage after studying at the prestige North London School of Sports Massage.
During my career I have worked and gained experience as part of a multidisciplinary team, alongside awarding winning chiropractors and have also been mentored by a renowned osteopath. I am constantly focused on improving my knowledge base and regularly participate in CPD (continuing professional development). This has recently included gaining a qualification in Nutrition and Health, enabling me to advise clients in this area, when appropriate, alongside their treatment. I am also a member of the Sports Massage Association and the Federation of Holistic Therapists, and fully insured by Balens Ltd.
Maintaining my own fitness is still extremely important to me and something I feel very passionate about. In order to do this I regularly attend the gym, participating in resistance training and cardio vascular training. I also practise yoga, enjoy cycling, running and walking along the seafront in Southend on Sea, as well as preparing nutritious and healthy recipes.
